SPRING MUSICAL INFORMATION
Tentative Performance Dates: May 10 - May 12
$30,000 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OF YOUR CHOICE
$50,000 TECHNOLOGY GRANT TO YOUR SCHOOL
Judging Criteria:
  • Artistic merit: based on grade group and artistic skill
  • Creativity: based on the representation of the theme and use of the Google logo
  • Theme communication: how well the theme is expressed in the artwork and the supporting statement

Competition Levels:
  • 250 State Finalists: Google employees will select from each Grade Group, one doodle so each group and each state will be represented equally. These doodles will be displayed in an online gallery beginning May 2, 2012
  • 50 State Winners: Guest judges and Goodle doodlers will select the best doodle from each state.  One doodle will be selected from each state and will be on display in an online gallery on the Doodle 4 Google website.
  • 5 National Finalists: The US public will vote their favorite doodle from the 50 state winners. The hightest ranking doodler from each grade group will be named as a National Finalist.
  • One National Winner: One of the five National Finalists will be named the WINNER and their artwork will be featured on the Google homepage May 18 for 24hrs.

Prizes:
  • National Winner:  The overall winner will have his/her doodle featured on the US Google homepage.  He/she will be awarded a $30,000 college scholarship to be used at the school of his/her choice, a trip to New York for an event on May 17, 2012, a Google Chromebook computer, a Wacom digital design tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it.  We'll also award the winner's full time school a $50,000 technology grant towards the establishment or improvement of a computer lab or technology programing.
  • 4 National finalists:  Each of the other four national Finalists will win a $5,000 college scholarship to be used at the school of their choice, a trip to New York for the final event on May 17,2012, a Wacom digital design tablet, and a t-shirt with their doodle on it.
  • 50 State Winners:  Each of the other 50 State winners will win a trip to New York for the final event and a t-shirt printed with their doodles on it.  All 50 Regional finalists will also have their doodle displayed in a special exhibit at the New York Public Library.
  • 250 State Finalists: Each of the other State Finalists will receive an official winner's certificate and be featured on the Doodle 4 Google contest web site.
